Fun at Deerkill Day Camp

Activities

Children have marvelous curiosity. Our counselors provide an environment that encourages children to attempt new things to learn – to develop.   They know that self-esteem and self-confidence are gained through individual growth rather than competition.  Our highly professional counselors have been selected for their ability to create a relaxed atmosphere conducive to learning.

Swimming

We know that many parents choose Deerkill because of the outstanding reputation of our swimming program.  All campers swim twice daily in one of our three heated swimming pools. Campers have a 40 minute period of daily swim instruction in a small group taught by American Red Cross certified instructors as well as a 40 minute free swim period. Instruction takes place in small groups of five to six children who have comparable swimming skills. Beginners receive instruction in shallow pools designed specifically for teaching younger children. Our instruction caters to all levels of experience, from the child still dipping their toes in the water to the child perfecting their strokes.
