The Stars Come Out for 2nd Annual Video Premiere

Bob and Karen just minutes before the debut of the 2011 Deerkill Yearbook Video

The 2011 Deerkill Video Yearbook Premiere was a blast.  It was so great to see so many of our campers and their families come out for the festivities.  Over 280 attendees were treated to the now-famous spy trailer first seen on our YouTube and Facebook pages after which some campers won Deerkill shirts and sweatshirts by answering various trivia questions.  Even our youngest campers were able to answer a question or two (such as, “What color is the yellow pencil near the Flipper & Dolphin House?”).  The movie followed and for the next 52 minutes everyone sat on the edge of their seats as images from the summer played on the big screen.  Carrie Petkiewich, our Video Specialty Head and resident director extraordinaire, outdid herself this year.  The music was fun and every camper saw themselves at least once or twice playing ball, dressed up for our theme days or enjoying one of our special events.  It was great for us to see everyone’s reactions as they saw the movie for the first time.  Based on the audience reaction following the movie, I believe our crowd will be even bigger next year.  All of our campers left with a surprise parting gift of a Deerkill winter hat to keep them warm until next summer.  Thanks to everyone who attended – it really was a special day!
